I see everything as a painting so sometimes it is difficult to choose what to create on the canvas. Despite that some people think I should have a style - I just enjoy painting EVERYTHING! I love that versatility. Painting in a realistic style in all mediums. Portraying the portrait/figure is what I am most passionate about. I love to paint people, in all of their expression and colourful characteristics. My favourite medium is oil but I often dabble at painting realistic artwork with pastel, acrylic, and watercolour. I paint with spontaneous enthusiasm and celebrate every finished artwork in euphoric jubilation Born in Saskatchewan, I received my first art award in GRADE ONE. I still remember the picture of my mom in the orange flowered dress pushing the upright vacuum in the first ever art award I received; a city of Saskatoon Mother's day Contest. I finished school in Alberta with the Grade 12 art Award and I have gone on to receive many other awards. I am gracious for such recognition. Being a self taught artist both challenges and teaches me. Being artistic is a gift; as natural to me as writing but I believe any one can be taught to become an artist. I teach art classes to school grades 1 - 12, adults & seniors. I have been involved as a volunteer for many affiliations; from president, vice-president, programmer, workshop & program co-coordinator, communication liassion, website director, casino chair, art display co-ordinator, show and exhibition head and so many other art related positions.
Good painting is nothing else but a copy of the perfections of God and a reminder of His painting. ~ Michelangelo
